Our Vision:
Ever since Bel Air Presbyterian Church was established in 1956 it has been known as a church deeply committed to Christ, His people, and to caring for the world. As you look at the mission statements of the last fifty years, there has been a refining and enriching of the same great mission.
Now under Dr. Mark Brewer’s vision, we are about the bold mission of "Making Los Angeles the Greatest City for Christ.” What that means is we are joyfully taking our call to be city changers to the next level. We prayerfully and diligently work to make Los Angeles a city where God is honored and all the people live in place of peace and prosperity. A city where the Church works along side each other and reaches to the poor and rich alike. It’s a huge goal. But, the Lord willing, if it happened to the decadent capital of the Roman Empire, it can happen in Los Angeles! We are situated in a unique place in a unique city. They make the laws in Washington DC. They make the culture here in Los Angeles.
If you want to come join a mission of astounding possibilities, we eagerly invite you to take hands with us and join hearts in this great mission for Christ.
Serving The Church
What a wonderful feeling it is to know that you have made a difference in the life of a child or student, or to know that you helped carry another through their hour of need! At Bel Air, we believe that part of being a disciple of Christ is to serve His people through what we call "inreach."
Volunteers in our Caring Ministries pray for or make weekly, one-on-one caring visits to those who are in need. On Sundays, prayer teams lift prayer requests up to God, and during the week, deacons work behind the scenes to meet with those in crisis. Over 100 of our members serve our children each week as Sunday School teachers and weekly program volunteers. Nearly 300 serve as small group leaders, and many more serve our student ministries. Our hope is that all of our members will serve the church by volunteering on a weekly basis. If you are interested in volunteering and making a difference in someone’s life
