Awww McFarland, CA, the town I was born in. Very quiet and wonderful when I was growing up there. The camaraderie was awesome. Loved the small town feel and the friends are forever. Yes, it is the heartbeat of agriculture. It has a little bit of everything, and I remember working the fields when I was a youngn' especially the cotton. Great place to be from indeed! Go Cougars!
High School was fun times and lunch was either at home because of the ease of being so close and/or snow white. Occasionally, a few of us would venture over to the other burger joint and I can't for the life of me remember what it's name was. It was across the street from Palace market...anyone remember?

The drive-in you are referring to has to be Country Burger on Perkins Ave. They had the best burgers at that place, the guy that owned it then had previously owned a place in Delano, and he grilled his buns a special way....that made it so good!

Lots of photos to be loaded later... Walked the mall, saw the Hope Diamond...Ate at the Hard Rock Cafe, Loved the Vietnam wall and the Lincoln memorial.....Lots to do and see and oh yes, enjoyed the humidity!

So, far the island of Maui.... My fave place. Although, I really enjoyed Washington D.C. too.... Hmmm, hard to pick between the two. I'd have to see what my mood was like at the particular time I would book my flight ;)
Actually, this summer I will be going white water rafting to celebrate my birth! I'd go back white water rafting anyday!
